The System Transformation team at NHS England are launching a new resource to support systems with Effective Approaches to Workforce Modelling in Major Service Change.
Accurate and effective workforce modelling is essential for service change.
This resource combines guidance, research, reports, and good practice for NHS teams undertaking large scale reconfigurations, to help them to navigate the most effective approaches to workforce modelling and signpost them to the resources they need to make their service change a success.
The resource covers:
- guidance and good practice examples of workforce modelling when carrying out major service change schemes in the NHS .
- effective methods of modelling, innovative workforce plans and tools .
- ways to address the “sticky issues” related to workforce modelling that can affect the success of both service change schemes, and ICS strategies more widely.
The design and content of this resource is based on focus group feedback, user testing and expert input.
